Beginner Fusion Bellydance 12 pm – 1:30 pm

Welcome to fusion bellydance, y’all! This class is for beginner bellydancers still learning the mechanics of the fundamentals or intermediate dancers who want to refine, practice, and learn new methods to complete your basics. If you’ve taken any classes with me at Solstice Studio, you know how this works. If you haven’t, you get a warmup, isolation drills, undulation drills, footwork patterns and full-body movement informed by Latin, hip-hop, and modern dance, and arm and hand drills complete with breakdowns and helpful tips for healthy and proper technique. At the end, you get one freestyle song to jam out and then a cool down and stretch. I use a rotating playlist of African, Latin, and American dance and electronic jams to inspire us. Constant movement, no choreo. Latin and hiphop dancers will find cross-training in bellydance surprisingly helpful for body movement so come check it out. No bellydance experience necessary. Men, don’t be afraid, you are welcome to attend. Bring water. We definitely get sweaty up in hurr.

Intermediate Fusion Bellydance 1:30 pm – 3 pm

This class is for dancers with bellydance or Latin body movement experience or those who are up for the challenge. You get all of the above from the beginner class plus layering isolation drills, faster, more complex patterns, and more difficult balance and aerobic challenging movements. I always work to the level of the room and give choose your own adventure options so you will be challenged but not overly frustrated or bored. What are you waiting for? Let’s dance!
