The Golden Age of Belly Dance saw a unique interpretation of traditional dances, which gave rise to our current day ideals of the dance. The earthy sensuality of Baladi fused with the light sparkle of Raq Sharki made stars of many of the eras most brilliant dancers. In this class Audie will teach the basic movements, moods and techniques of Raqs Baladi.

Intro to Berber Dance
Sunday, 8/6/2017 from 12:00 noon – 3 PM
Dance like a Berber. The Berber are nomadic tribes who live in the North African desert. Their history is long and rich. Their dances are earthy, strong and inspired by the natural world. These dances are the origins of modern Belly Dance. In this class students will gain an understanding of these dances and see how they relate to contemporary dance. Students will also expand their vocabulary with wonderful new/old moves.
These classes are limited to 10 dancers each.
