Join Serena Spears for two mind-bending, sweat-inducing belly dance workshops!
1:30 – 3:30pm | Bellydance Tech Shop
Define and refine movement throughout the body with drill patterns and exercises to break down, rebuild, and polish your bellydance building blocks and layers. We will work the body from top to bottom, slow and fast, smooth and sharp, to get the cleanest isolations and muscular body movement. We’ll have a fun playlist to keep us moving for the full two hours. Please bring water and a notebook.
4:00 – 6:00pm | Hip-hop Fusion Technique
Explore some of Serena’s favorite styles of urban dance (including popping, waacking, waving, house, and more). From powerful and aggressive to coy and feminine, fluid or sharp, heavy or weightless, we’ll use technique drills to tap into the different energies associated with each movement style and find new dance personalities to merge with your bellydance aesthetic. Be prepared to get down with non-stop dancing and irresistible music! All levels welcome! Please bring water and a notebook.
