“Raqs Asaya” (Cane)
Stage
The can dance, also known as “Raqs Asaya”, is a folkloric dance traditionally performed by men. Modern belly dance has adapted this for female dancers in a fun and playful way. Learn the history, basic movements, combinations and a short choreography. Learn how the can can become more than a prop.
Participants of this workshop will have the opportunity to perform this during the Grand Gala Show. If you are interested in performing, please let Aela know with your registration. You may use a bamboo cane or a hooked dance cane.
