Kali is a dancer and teacher of Improvisational Tribal Style and Tribal Fusion belly dance. She is founder and Co-director of Tribal Desires, a Tribal Fusion/ Tribal Improv troupe. She is also founder and director of Tribal Dreams, a Tribal Style/Folkloric student troupe. Both troupes are based in Charleston, WV.
Although Kali began belly dance classes in 1995, she began her “tribal” dance lessons in 1997 with a 10-day trip to California to take classes from Carolena Nericcio, world-renowned director of FatChanceBellyDance and the creator of the style known as American Tribal Style. Once formally introduced to the tribal style of dance, Kali knew that it was to become her passion.
Upon returning to West Virginia she was able to continue her pursuit of the tribal format by studying ethnic/folkloric dance with Ami Lamborn, and by traveling to dance workshops in nearby states. Later, Kali became a student of Narah, a Tribal Fusion Style teacher, and had the honor of dancing in her student troupe, Tribe of Fires.
Kali’s unique approach to this beautiful style of dance is the result of her many influences through workshops and classes. Kali has attended classes/workshops of world-renowned instructors such as Morocco (of New York), Princess Farhana (of California), Conchi (of Ohio), Aegela (of Ohio–awarded the coveted Lifetime Performer’s license by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, an honor held by only 11 foreigners), Arish Lam (of Puerto Rico) and Amaya (of New Mexico), as well as from widely acclaimed and highly honored instructors such as Jill Parker, director of Ultra Gypsy (CA), Zi’ah Ali director of Awalim Dance Company (GA), the Urban Tribal Dance Company (CA), Teresa Tomb, director of Radkadu Gypsy (KY), Neefa and Safa of Khafiff (PA), Shakira (OH), Phyllidia (KY), Maja, the Girl from the Nile, director of Gypsy Tribe (FL), Taletha (KY), Jim Boz and Eyesah (a former Miss America of Belly Dance). Related dance training includes instruction in Congolese and West African dance.
Kali is honored to have been a student of Narah bint Durr and to have taken workshops and classes from the various instructors named above

Sherrilyn’s lengthy history of dance training and performance began with jazz, tap, and modern. Then she added fusion bellydance to the mix, melding her background in other dance styles with her newer training in American, Egyptian, and Turkish bellydance technique. This was followed by training in west African and hip-hop, all while maintaining her interest in jazz, tap, modern, and bellydance.
Now Sherrilyn is a true fusion dancer, performing and teaching a mix of bellydance, tap, jazz, modern, west African, and hip-hop. In additional to solo and duet work with Krista Sassani, she is a Core Facilitation Team member in PURE Philadelphia.
Vikki Gale has been a professional tribal style belly dancer since 2000. She is drawn to tribal style because she enjoys the spontaneity of the dance along with the camaraderie that is shared between dancers. She is currently co-director of Hipnosis, director of student troupe Daughters of the Hip, owner of Tribal Bellies Dance Studio where she teaches improv tribal and tribal fusion classes, and can be seen dancing regularly at Samarkand Restaurant in Feasterville, PA.

Paula has a background in modern dance and ballet. She also taught Zumba for many years. She trained in Raqs Sharqui with several local instructors as well as international superstars, Suhaila Salimpour and Sahra Saeeda. Paula was enamored with American Tribal Style® (ATS®), but was unable to find anyone practicing this dance style in the Philadelphia area. She trained in Improvisational Tribal Style for several years, but finally realized that it was time for ATS® to bloom in Philadelphia. Paula trained with Mimi Fontana of Manhattan Tribal and Kae Montgomery of FatChanceBellyDance® to prepare for official training with Megha Gavin and Carolena Nerrichio-Bohlman. She received General Skills Classic and Modern Certifications and Teacher Training Certification. Paula was officially accepted as a FCBD® Sister Studio and she is a founding member of State Street Tribal and Tribe Ma’ats (Middle Atlantic ATS).
